The Shadow Economy in Serbia: New Findings and Recommendations for the Reform

Belgrade 20 March 2013, Crystal Hall C of the Hyatt Hotel. The results of the "The Shadow Economy in Serbia: New Findings and Recommendations for the Reform" project were presented to the audience at the conference.

The conference presented the latest findings of comprehensive research into the shadow economy carried out by the Foundation for the Advancement of Economics (FREN) for the USAID Business Enabling Project (BEP). The research included a survey on conditions for doing business, designed to capture the informal operation of enterprises and entrepreneurs, which was carried out on a representative sample of 1,251 business entities operating in Serbia. The study is also based on the results of analysis of the relevant statistical data, as well as on qualitative research encompassing the key stakeholders.
